Someone said: "Owning a tie is the first serious step in life." He couldn't be more right: In fact the tie is the same as that until a few decades ago, were long trousers: distinguishing the 'man by the boy- it seems worth pointing out that, in tie, is in no way intended the snake hanging cloth that can be seen, lately, hanging from the necks of many, inevitably declined in colors between the 'absurd and the impossible. Obviously the "seriousness" of wearing that institution of menswear should not inhibit the aesthetic sense of the wearer, but rather to encourage it to create outfits that, even if they are brave, do not ever leave out the two basic characteristics of elegant combinations: naturalness and good taste, naturally.End the era of a smart not to be noticed, the sophistication of contemporary Dandy is visible to all, and is enhanced with the refinement of forms, volumes and materials, while avoiding the opulence which, though not always kitsch , upsets his aestethic sense. So, there is a sensitive proliferation of ties, five or seven folds (the fabric that was folded up five or seven times, which gives a different dimension to the tie),in silk, cashmere, or silk knitted ( the only materials that  Man of Style admit in her wardrobe), in shades ranging from solid colors in the "canonical" (blue, gray, few notes of pastels, very little black), geometric prints micropatterns very discrete (legendary E. Marinella ties, which are displayed with dignity to those of M. Cilento & F.llo), also produced in soft colors.
It should be open an absolutely different chapter about the so-called Regimental ties, with cross lines: traditional British, they reported the color of the arm by military regiment from which they had taken. Subsequently imported in American universities of the Ivy League, took on the colors of the universities' membership. The American attitude is to tilt to the left rows, the Club and the British regiments prefer, instead, the slope on the right. This detail can be useful for the Gentleman who wants to wear a tie with the colors of a university, without ever having attended it: just choose the one with the slope of lines opposite to the' original 'in order to not  betray his taste, while maintaining the honor (it is considered a serious lack, in some circles, wearing the colors of a' weapon which does not belong). Of course, there is no advice for the current season ... theution. tie is the same since 1910, and this is to make it a true "weapon" of the Traditional Revolutin
